Tips for Housetraining a Young Pup:
When you decide it is time to begin the housetraining process, there are a few recommendations that you should think about.
It is crucial to be patient. Bear in mind that your young puppy is getting adjusted to a brand-new home and this can be a stressful experience.
Try to create a routine with your young puppy. Take your young puppy out every couple of hours and consistently go out after eating, drinking, sleeping, or playing. Decide on an assigned location to use the bathroom outside. Make sure you take your puppy there to allow him or her get used to that spot.
Reward your pup for going potty outside. By rewarding your young puppy outside, he or she will recognize that they have done a good job.

So impressed and happy with happy pooch! My dog came home looking absolutely adorable and happy to boot with her haircut. The whole process was straightforward and so positive. Very happy to have found this place and will definitely be back.
I cannot tell you how much I appreciate Melissa at Happy Pooch. We adopted Oscar from the Whatcom Humane Society in September and he is very reactive to new people because he is partially blind.
I really needed to get his nails trimmed and the vet recommended Happy Pooch. I was able to make an appointment very easily. I had explained about Oscar’s reactivity so she gave us an appointment at the end of the day when there wouldn’t be a bunch of clients or dogs around.
I brought Oscar in, and as predicted, he barked at Melissa and her assistant, Madelyn. Melissa was very very patient with Oscar, giving him treats and speaking to him calmly and gently. She knew exactly how to work with him!!
She led us to a back room where it was quiet and we wouldn’t encounter any other “triggers”. She really took her time letting Oscar relax and we were eventually able to get his nails clipped with lots of treats and encouragement!
I am so grateful for Melissa. She is very experienced and very kind! We bought a punchcard and Oscar will return for regular “PETicures”!
They are always friendly and good with my little pooch, he has a lot of anxiety problems.
Happy Pooch is always making my fur baby look her best! They are timely, professional and super helpful!
Very reasonable prices, great selection of toys, treats, and food, and fantastic staff.
