Happy Pooch owner, Melissa Wiltse has a true passion for animals – she has spent her life surrounded by canine companions and other furry friends.

“I knew early on that a job working with pets was in the cards for me. Owning my own grooming salon for dogs and cats has always been a dream – I’m super excited to be able to use my training and skills to serve customers at Happy Pooch,” shares Melissa.

Experience and Training

Over the course of her pet service career Melissa’s strong work ethic, natural talents and friendly attitude have helped her move up through the ranks…from dog walker to kennel assistant to groomer and eventually serving in management roles.

Melissa began grooming full time at a popular boarding kennel just outside of Bellingham, WA in 2007. In addition to grooming, she also helped with daily kennel operations facility and even served as kennel manager at that facility for 2 years.

Prior to being a professional pet groomer, Melissa spent two years managing multiple locations of an independent natural pet food store in Whatcom, Skagit and Snohomish Counties. In that role she educated consumers about pet health and nutrition, was responsible for inventory and managed employees.
